The Red Chair Project // Simpson Housing (sponsored by The Zenoti Foundation)

What a beautiful day for The Red Chair Project!  It’s always a bit risky to plan anything outdoors in Minnesota during the month of October but we lucked out with great weather, and even greater people!  Over the years the Steller Kindness Project has connected with many local shelters and oranizations around the Twin Cities and we were grateful to partner again with our friends over at Simpson Housing to give haircuts to the wonderful people who utilize their resources and services.

Alongside our amazing volunteers from Gent Salon and Red Chair veteran barbers Soliman and Jared we were able to give 32 folks who are experiencing homelessness and other hardships. Additionally, we need to share our gratitude for the talented Sarah and the beautiful photos she was able to capture throughout the day!

The Red Chair Project has grown in beautiful strides over the years and we couldn’t be more excited to share that we have partnered with The Zenoti Foundation to help elevate and scale in ways we have only dreamed of! Because of the support we received from the Zenoti Foundation we were able to provide our volunteers with 10 styling and sanitation kits which will support upwards of 300 haircuts! Additionally, Zenoti has made it possible for us to gift 50 hygiene kits alongside their support in providing haircuts and kindness to individuals in need.

Looking to the future we are motivated and inspired to continue evolving and reaching new heights as we find more ways to show up for those in our community who are often overlooked and underserved. If you would like to volunteer (stylists, barbers, photographers and beyond!), donate or connect with us to bring our Red Chair’s to your community, please click the link below or email us at getinvolved@stellerkindnessproject.com

Providing services like a haircut allows us to connect with our community in a way that shows care, compassion and respect.  The stories, laughter and genuine encouragement of each other is a beautiful representation of what fills our cups as humans.
