Steller to the MAX!
Hey There, Wonderful People!
Within the past few months we have had the opportunity to share why the Steller Kindness Project is “more than a haircut” on a national and international level. We are determined to create a more sustainable foundation for our community ventures!
Today is Give to the Max day, and we are beyond excited to announce we have the opportunity to participate! Because of your support, our aggressively optimistic dreams and goals, and a hope to help even one person feel less alone, we have been able to achieve Nonprofit status (thanks to Propel Nonprofits for their fiscal sponsorship!)
What is our current focus?
We are working hard to “winterize” the Red Chair Project, and make it accessible and beneficial to people as these cold months approach us. We are excited to share that we will be partnering with an amazing local shelter, Simpson Housing, on 11/25! Not only will we be giving haircuts, Sony Pictures Entertainment has donated 143 Red Bags in honor of Mister Rogers, and the A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood movie release!
The more money we raise, the more haircuts we are able to give. The more haircuts we give, the more opportunities we have to connect with others!
Here is a breakdown of where your money goes:
Purchase more Red Chair’s! Our goal is to have a fleet of 10 chairs by 2020 (five chairs to go!!) ($350/each)
Red Bags! We fill these vessels of kindness with snacks, hand warmers, notes of kindness, toiletries, and much more! ($14/a bag)
We DESPERATELY need a trailer! it takes us 3+ trips to transport our chairs/supplies due to the “less-than-ideal” storage of our nissan rogue! ($2,000)
Grow the project nationally, and bring our mission to continue to perpetuate the conversation of how we can more actively show up for those in our community who are experiencing homelessness. We have something cool in the works, but will need lots of community support! ($1,000+)
