At the end of our time together, I had a couple other items planned out. I had been emailing with Kat (her friend who nominated her) and we came up with a few ideas.  Sarah’s friends are so important to her, and she is constantly sending out words of encouragement, little gifts, phone calls, you name it. I wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine.  Kat helped me gather some notes, quotes written out by her friends, photos and voice recordings. I put together a little video to share with her with the photos and voice recordings, and then I stuck all of the quotes into a book (whenever I do these “crafty” things, I start out all Martha Stewart, and then end up with paper cuts and lowered expectations of my abilities…but that’s ok).

For the rest of 2018, we will be giving monthly donations to the Animal Humane Society in Sarah’s name.

Sarah wants others to feel loved and seen.  We want SARAH to feel seen and loved.

If you are needing support, or would like to learn more about how you can help someone who struggles with suicidal ideation, here are a few spots that I've found helpful
